We’ve made a free card to help kids leave the classroom when things get too much.

It’s for moments of overwhelm — when they need space, some peace and quiet, or just a break. With an agreed plan in place, the child can place the card on their desk and leave the room without needing to ask or explain.

But it only works when everyone’s on the same page. Talk with your child’s teacher or school beforehand to create a safe, clear plan: where they’ll go, how long for, and how they return.

Download it, print it, and share it. Use it to start a conversation — because every child deserves a way to feel safe and heard. There are two designs on this sheet - one generic one, and one with a space to enter the individual's name.
